BACKGROUND

• The Innovation Promotion and Industrial Human Capital Division (PIMI) plays a role in promoting a conducive environment for generating innovation at the research and development (R&D) level, as well as in the development of human capital in the upstream and downstream agricomodity sectors, to ensure they are more competitive and continue to be key contributors to the nation's economic growth.

• To achieve the goal of enhancing the competitiveness of the industry in the agricommodity sector, the PIMI Division is responsible for:

             (i)  coordinating the implementation of programs related to R&D&C&I in the agricommodity sector; and

• Implement strategies, evaluate, and monitor the execution of research, development, commercialization, and innovation  (R&D&C&I) programs in the agricommodity sector. This aligns with the ministry's goal of producing innovative and value-added technologies and products to ensure that the sector continues to progress and remains competitive;

• Implement strategies, coordinate, and monitor the execution of human capital programs in the agricommodity sector to  develop and enhance the human capital capacity of this sector.
